Transfer molding

 

Our transfer and injection molding technologies enable us to offer dimensionally accurate and high quality surface finish to our molded products.

This hot, low pressure process transfers melted thermoplastic resin from its pot to a hollow metal member – usually the end product. The thickness of the final layer is dictated by the inner dimension of the metal member (female) and the outer dimension of the inner mold (male).

Using Fluoropolymers such as PFA, FEP, ETFE and PVDF we can incorporate supreme chemical resistance with the rigidity of the metal structure.

 

The most common applications are lined metal parts supplied by the customer, or made by Engiplas upon request. The repeatability of the process enables dimension precision results that can be produced quickly which makes it suitable for large series production.

This production process is coordinated together with the customer.
